SensMar Pty Ltd is a second generation family owned engineering business. Its directors have 70+ man years of sensor and systems product application experience gained across our Industry. This depth of engineering knowledge and training includes the all important “hands on” roles in Research & Development, Manufacturing, Commissioning, and through life user support give us a holistic approach in responding to client’s needs and wants.

Alan Neale and Chris Neale of Sensmar

Our managing director Alan Neale started his commercial career in instrumentation at the KDG Instruments R&D factory, progressing to sales, marketing, branch management, and general management positions within the KDG Instruments Limited Group of companies in Europe, Singapore and Australia.

Alan is highly regarded throughout our industry, being a recipient of fellowships from local and overseas learning professional bodies. With a strong commitment to ownership of innovative manufacturing processes and skilled employment.

With KDG Instruments in the U.K. seeing the progressive reduction of instrumentation manufacturing in Australia, Alan with a group of colleagues formed Measurement Resources Pty Ltd in 1987, which grew into an Australian wide general Controls Company with some locally manufactured products. Measurement Resources was sold off in 2009.

Aspiring to focus on the world Marine market for specialised Liquid Level and Contents and Pressure sensors and system products, a new company SensMar Pty Ltd came into being in 2010 to address this industry. Understanding the importance of application knowledge and accreditations to the these clients, steady growth resulting in 65% of sales now being to European, U.S ship builders and owners.
This the result of client focus, product quality, sound commercial contracts, backed by the supporting facilities only a manufacturing business can provide.

Chris’s tertiary education was followed by an indentured engineering apprenticeship in Scientific Instrument Manufacturing rounded out by specialist training in Europe and the USA in related sensor manufacturing establishments.
This was followed by some years as the Measurement Resources Pty Ltd service and commissioning engineer, both within Australia, Singapore, Chinese and Japanese ship yards, supervising the installation and commissioning of Marine sensors and systems.
In the "in house management role", he set up a calibration facility to National standards becoming its’ accredited signatory, going on to introducing a company wide Quality Management System to ISO/IEC 17025.
Now as Director of SensMar, Chris is in the overall manager of production operations, and the day to day company quality and calibration standards.
